Hybrid Offers Minecraft Themed Helmets

The upcoming third-person shooter for Xbox LIVE Arcade known as Hybrid seems to be pandering a bit.  The studio behind the moderately anticipated release, 5th Cell, has partnered with Mojang to offer exclusive Minecraft themed helmets to players who reach level 20 in their game, based on the faction they choose.

Pandering? You decide.

Choose one faction, you get the Creeper head helmet, and choose the other, and you get the Minecraft Steve head helmet.

Steve’s looking good, buff even. Has he been working out?

The helmet system in the game is sort of your way of customizing your character and making it yours.  Other helmets announced are the awesome looking Victory helmet and the Bag of Shame helmet, for winning and losing matches, respectively.

The victory helmet, probably the most fitting of the helmets featured here.

The Bag of Shame, like the cone of shame, but for Hybrid losers.

Minecraft players will also be able to use Hybrid themed avatars in Minecraft.  Whether this will only be for Xbox players or not remains to be answered.

Hybrid paladin skin in Minecraft. Is this the Xbox 360 version? Looks like it to me.

Hybrid, which utilizes Valve’s source engine, is set to release August 8, 2012 on Xbox Live Arcade, one week after Minecraft’s much awaited update 1.3 on PC.
